Calling all mothers, single parents, all career women, and business owners

How do we do it? How much more can we do? Here I am at 8:40PM on a Thursday evening thinking about these questions.

Twenty years ago I became pregnant with my first child. At the age of 22, pregnant, and worried about my future and that of my baby, I decided to go to school. I needed a way to provide for my child as a single mother. I earned my Aesthetician License in less than six months and never looked back.

Since then I have been blessed. I am one of the select few people who absolutely love their career.

That is how I was able to raise my child by myself for the next 10 years. I then married my husband. He told me that I no longer had to work and that I could stay at home to be a mommy. After giving birth to my next daughter, I realized how much I truly missed working.

When she was just 4 weeks old, I went right back to work…as an aesthetician…at home.  Picture me doing a bikini wax while the client held my newborn, laying down on my kitchen floor on a beach towel!

Then I had my third and final baby and within a month I went right back to work and I still love every minute. So I guess there is no surprise that when my youngest went off to preschool I opened my own spa and really started my career.

I really had no idea what owning my own place would take but after 22 months I am have some idea of what it is all about.

It’s tiring, and sometimes I struggle with motivation. I just want to pack it all up and say “what’s the use?” but then some random person reminds me why I am doing this and urges me to keep on going.

Now I am here, sharing my story with whoever you are, and wondering how many out there are in my shoes.

In my blogs I would like to give out some useful information but I believe what is useful for some might not be what is useful for others. So I will just put out there that if anyone has skin questions or concerns I will do my best to get you the answers you need.

I am proud of eighteen years of working in the cosmetic industry and working on thousands of people with all different skin types and skin issues. I would be happy to give skin tips on each blog, after my entries on what it’s like to be an entrepreneur mom. If there is something specific you would like to know about just let me know! icon smile Calling all mothers, single parents, all career women, and business owners

BTW, I love spiritual quotes and cool sayings. I’ll be sharing more of them. I really enjoy this one:

Feel appreciation for those who provide examples of Well-being. How would you know that prosperity was possible if there wasn’t some evidence of prosperity around you? It’s all part of this contrast that helps you to sharpen your desire.

So here it is—my first blog. That was definitely more fun than I thought it would be.

Blessings to all,

Jacquelyn Mills
